Power Management

Surge Elimination

Surge elimination refers to the protection of electronic devices and systems from voltage spikes or surges in electrical power. These surges can occur due to various reasons, such as lightning strikes, power outages, or fluctuations in the electrical grid. SurgeX is the only Surge Elimination device on the market. SurgeX equipment absorbs and dissipates the excess voltage from the surge to protect the equipment.

It's important to note that surge suppression is a proactive measure to enhance the longevity and reliability of electronic equipment. Investing in quality surge protection can provide peace of mind and potentially save costly repairs or replacements in the event of a power surge.

Battery Backup / UPS

A Battery Backup, also known as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), is a crucial device designed to safeguard electronic equipment from power interruptions and fluctuations. In the event of a power outage, a UPS provides a temporary power source by using its internal battery. This ensures that connected devices, such as computers, servers, and networking equipment, can continue to operate without disruption.

Two types of UPS systems exist. The “Double Conversion” type we typically use means that the power is always flowing through the battery. When the grid power fails, the connected devices never see the power failure. Devices have power seamlessly as long as the battery lasts. The proposed system to provides about 30 minutes of run time. Another benefit of the Double Conversion system is the perfect sine wave output which supplies the equipment with safe, clean power.

Power Controller

Power Control provides a central device for the main electronics in the rack to connect. We use Crestron Power Conditioning and Control units which have the ability to automatically reboot the network and control equipment in the correct sequence, monitor the status of the network connection, and provide an easy way to reboot the equipment manually when necessary.

The Crestron Power Conditioning and Control includes energy and temperature monitoring. This will help, proactively, to anticipate device failures because devices usually increase their power consumption prior to failure. It also provides programmable under/ over-voltage shut down to protect equipment in the event of a power problem.
